Payments and security
Secure payments with Stripe
– how it works on Sceido
Sceido uses Stripe to handle all payments on the platform.
Stripe is one of the world’s most popular and trusted online payment systems – the same one used by Amazon, Deliveroo, Booking.com and thousands of other platforms.
It handles billions of transactions each year and is certified to the highest international security standards (PCI DSS Level 1).
What is
Stripe Express
Stripe Express is Stripe’s solution designed for sellers on marketplace platforms: it allows Sceido to coordinate payments between buyers and sellers automatically and securely, without Sceido ever having direct access to your bank account.
Why Sceido
uses Stripe
Sceido uses Stripe Express, the solution designed for sellers on marketplace platforms. On Sceido, Stripe provides a platform to manage the receipt of payments, the secure maintenance of amounts, and the transfer of funds to sellers.
When a buyer places an order and pays, the money does not go through Sceido, but is handled directly by Stripe, which holds it securely until the transaction is confirmed and then transfers it to the seller.
This system protects both buyers and sellers:
Buyer
Payment is secured and traceable. Funds are released to the seller only after delivery is confirmed.
Seller
They receive payment automatically, directly to their bank account, upon completion of the order process.
Why you must
link your
Stripe account
In order to sell on Sceido and receive payments, you must link a Stripe Express account to your seller profile.
You can set up your Stripe account either during enrollment or later directly from your Vendor Dashboard on the Settings > Payment page.
What you are
asked during
configuration
- First and last name – entered by default after your enrollment in Sceido
- Email address – entered by default after you signed up for Sceido
- Country of residence – entered by default after your enrollment in Sceido
- IBAN or bank account details on which to receive payments
- ID document containing data entered – required by Stripe for European regulatory compliance
Once the account has been set up and confirmed by Stripe, the entire process of receiving payments will be activated. Payments will be automatically transferred to the IBAN account entered once the transaction is completed, within the timeframe handled by the vendor’s banking system.
Is it safe?
Yes. Stripe is regulated as an electronic money institution by the Central Bank of Ireland and is compliant with the European Payments Regulation (PSD2). Your data is encrypted and protected to the highest industry standards.
If you have any doubts or difficulties in configuration, you can write to us at contact@sceidoperfume.com – we are here to help.
