Description
Extrait bottle of Shalimar by Guerlain 30ml
This example dates back to the 1970s and can be identified with good certainty thanks to three elements: the outer box with the “zigzag” motif (used by Guerlain from 1967 to approximately 1983), the label bearing only the wording “SHALIMAR”—previous to the mid-1980s version that added the wording parfum/extrait—and the acid-etched “Guerlain · Bottle Made in France” engraving on the bottom, typical of production prior to the plastic-labeled bottles of the early 1980s. The cap is also made of pure frosted glass (ground glass).
The set comes complete with two original boxes: the outer cardboard case with the chevron pattern and the “Extrait Shalimar — Guerlain Paris” medallion (ref. NO. 30090), and the inner purple velvet case with the golden prancing horse (the maison’s “Marly Horse”) and the Guerlain Paris signature embossed in gold.
The bottle is empty. It’s a collector’s item—for those looking for the bottle, the vintage packaging, and the object’s historical-aesthetic value, not the wearable fragrance.
